This became rosé by ‘a little accident’. It’s mainly 2017 with about 10% reserve wines which have been systematically set aside since they started making sparkling wine in 2012. 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir that was riper than Michael Brajkovich realised so that at disgorgement in May 2022, after four years on lees, they played around with adding a little red wine. They also experimented with different dosage levels and settled on 6 g/l which seems more successful than slightly lower levels previously. All this information is on the back label.
“Pale orangey pink. Nicely mellow nose with some strawberry aroma and nerve. Good, comfortable mousse. Great balance! Quite long. More satisfying and successful than previous versions.”
